Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 11, 2025
Overview
ReadyChore ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the ReadyChore app and website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
ReadyChore is designed for households — including families with children. We do not collect personal information from children directly, and we do not display advertising.
Information We Collect
Account information. ReadyChore uses anonymous authentication by default. When you first open the app, a private account is created automatically with no email or password required. If you choose to add a display name, that name is stored in our database.
Household data. When you create or join a household, we store the household name, member list, chore assignments, Fair Play card assignments, care-level definitions, and chore completion history associated with your account.
Invite codes. When you invite someone to your household, we temporarily store an invite token (valid for 7 days) and the invitee's email address if one is provided. This is used only to deliver the invite.
Usage information. We may collect basic diagnostic information (crash reports, error logs) through our error monitoring service to help us fix bugs. This data does not include personally identifiable information.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the ReadyChore app and its features
- Sync your household data across devices when you are logged in
- Deliver household invites
- Diagnose and fix technical issues
- Improve the app based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising purposes. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.
Third-Party Services
Supabase. We use Supabase (supabase.com) to store and sync your household data. Supabase stores data on servers in the United States. You can read Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
Sentry (error monitoring). We may use Sentry to capture crash reports. Sentry data does not include personally identifiable information. See sentry.io/privacy.
Children's Privacy
ReadyChore is intended to be managed by adults on behalf of their household, which may include children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Children use the app through a household set up and managed by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your household data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your household within the app, all associated chores, cards, and member data are permanently deleted from our database.
To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at privacy@readychore.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
Data Security
All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using TLS. Your data is stored in Supabase's managed PostgreSQL database with row-level security policies that ensure users can only access data belonging to their own household.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@readychore.com.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of ReadyChore after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
